What We Can All Learn From The Apostle Peter

We've all heard the story of Christ and Peter walking on water. But if you haven't you can read Matthew 14:24-33.

As a teenager I would judge Peter for when he noticed the boisterous wind he began to sink when less then two seconds ago he had enough faith to walk on water. But the older I get the more I realize how much myself and all of us are like Peter.

I had a sister in my mission who would always tell me that I had faith like Peter. When the Lord called me to get something I would leap out of the boat.

But something else I'm learning about myself is that when those boisterous winds that we all experience in life start blow it's easy for me to start sinking.

I'm learning that when this happens we need to follow peter's example and cry out "Lord, save me." We cry this out as we repent, realign our will with Gods. Just Christ did not fail Peter, Christ will not fail us. He will stretch out His hand when we are drowning because His hands are forever outstretched. All we have to do is call out. He will always hear our prayers.
